In Sri Lanka following steps were taken
- In 1956,an act was passed to recognise Sinhala as the official language,disregarding Tamil .
- Government followed policies that favoured Sinhala applicants for University position and jobs.
- A new constitution law was pased that ordered to protect and respect Buddhism.
the steps taken in Belgium:
- the central government consist equal number of Dutch and French speaking ministers.
- Power was equally distributed to central ,state government.
Apart from central and state government a third government called community government was made which was elected by people belonging to one language community.
