A constellation is a shape in the sky formed by stars that look like they're close together, but that's not usually the case.
A galaxy like ours (the milky way) is a very large structure of stars, planets, dust - it's where everything happens (including constellations) and stuff is created.
some of the most important difference between a galaxy and a constellation are- 1) galaxy is a collection of billions of stars whereas constellation is a collection of only a few stars ( when compared with the galaxy).
2) There are not many galaxies, which are visible to the naked eyes but there are many constellations, which can be observed with the help of our naked eyes.
3) there are billions of galaxies in the universe, but there are only 88 constellations in the whole universe.
Hope these examples and explanation helps you.
