Both Helium and Beryllium have two valence electrons but helium is a noble gas element whereas beryllium does not. The reason is :

A noble gas is a gas which has stable electronic configuration also which has its octet and duet completed.

Helium's duet is completed that is why it is a noble gas but Beryllium's duet is not completed so it is not a noble gas.
