Both helium and beryllium have two valence electrons. Helium represents a noble gas while beryllium does not. Give reason.

it is because helium has an full outermost shell while berylium does not have a completely filled outermost shell

Helium configuration has been filled.. but berllium has 2 electrons at outer shell... Beryllium is a metal and tries to give away electrons...and become positively charged atoms.. but helium cannot give away nor take electrons as it's shell is filled completely...I hope it helps
