lysosomes: they help in autodigestion of worn out cell parts and digestion of foreign bodies ( they are called suicidal bags of cells )
vacuoles: it helps the cell to remain in shape .it also stores food , water and wastes of the cell

Though both the organelles are the endomembrane structures still they have different functions.

Functions of lysosomes are -

1. These organelle have hydrolytic enzymes which can digest carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, etc.

2. They digest the cells and its components which are dead.

Functions of vacuoles are -

1. This is a space which contains the useless materials.

2. Contractile vacuole is responsible for excretion in organism like Amoeba.
