Both magnesium and aluminium react fast with steam but not with cold water. However, more hydrogen is formed when magnesium reacts with water compared to the reaction between aluminium and water. Sodium reacts faster with cold water compared to aluminium and magnesium. Copper does not react with either cold water ar steam. a.
