Manure has many nutrients and micronutrients as well as organic matter. We purchase poultry manure and have it analyzed at a lab for nutrients Nitrogen, Phosphorous, and Potassium, among others. We then apply it to our fields according to the nutrient requirements of the crop we’re growing. We supplement synthetic fertilizers where the poultry manure doesn't match the crop requirements.
Fertilizer can simply be a word to mean “a substance that provides nutrients used by plants”, whereas manure is animal waste that can be used as fertilizer.
