Neither of them joined the club .

Here we have change the form of join as we have remove the auxiliary verb didn't and instead at any other so in order to maintain the past tense join changes to joined .

Here instead of two words saying both and didn't we have used a single word neither.

Mostly neither comes in collaboration with nor which is an example of correlative conjunctions .

Conjunctions are the words that join either two phrases or two sentences which can be dependent or independent upon each other .

Examples :

  1. She came and stayed long .
  2. The paper that you threw yesterday was my document .
  3. We must study well in order to satisfy self .
  4. Neither Sham nor Van talked about it .
