Natural ingredients are used in the soaps and synthetic ingredients are used in the detergents.

Explanation:

  • Fatty acids in sodium salts are defined in soaps. They are sodium palmitate and sodium stearate.
  • Benzene sulphonic acid in long chain from sodium salts are defined as detergents.
  • Colloidal suspension is formed when soaps dissolved in water.
  • In colloidal suspension the molecules in soap cluster to form micelles and it remains radially when hydrocarbon suspended the water towards the center at the end and directed outward in the ionic end.
  • When hard water mixed with soap then the magnesium and calcium salts displaces the potassium and sodium salts present in the soap and insoluble. For washing clothes, soaps are ineffective in hard water.

Two problems

  • Detergents cause problems in the environment due to non-biodegradable.
  • It harms the animal life because of the additive added, which is phosphates.
