Whereas tapeworm can reproduce with itself. Hermaphrodites worms contain both the male and female reproductive organs in the same worm. Although tapeworm and earthworm are both hermaphrodites, they differ in their 'mode of fertilization'. Hence, earthworms cannot fertilize gametes within themselves unlike tapeworms.
