Tapeworms belongs to Phylum - Platy helminthes, they have flattened body, The fertilisation takes place internally and involves the fusion of male and female gametes of the same parent.Whereas, Earthworms belongs to Phylum - Annelida are tube shaped worms. They show cross fertilisation, involves the fusion of male and female gametes produced by different parents, here the two worms come together for sperm exchange and the fertilisation is external.
