Flowers which depend on pollination for reproduction have colourful and nectar containing flowers so as to attract insects , bees, butterflies, etc. which in turn are the agents of pollination and helps in the dispersal of pollen grains. Whereas, this is not the case with the flowers that depend upon wind and water as the agents of pollination because no such attractive feature is actually required.

Production of nectar and possession of colorful petals are a few features of flowers that depend on bees or insects or even animals for pollination.
Those flowers that depend on wind or water for pollination generally do not have colorful petals nor do they produce nectar.
Instead, they have light seeds so the seeds can easily fly away, or they can float to distant places.
