Flowers are colourful and produce nectar to attract insects like houseflies, butterflies, etc. for pollination by insects. This is not necessary for wind and water pollinated flowers. Therefore, they aren't very colourful and don't produce nectar.

Ans.
Pollination can be defined as the act, by which pollen grains are transferred from male anther of a flower to female stigma of same or different flower. It can be done by both biotic (animals or birds) and abiotic (wild or water) factors.
Flowers which are pollinated by animals or birds show colored petals, produce nectar to attract them. On the other hand, flowers that pollinate by wind or water do not need to attract birds or animals.
Thus, 'flowers which are pollinated by wind or water do not produce nectar or other nutritious food and these flowers do not need colored petals.
