Bottom-up vs.Top-down processing:

My example: I am not a car mechanic. I open the hood of my car and all I see is nuts and bolts, and hoses, etc. I would only know how to fix anything if an expert mechanic teaches me what everything is, what are its functions and how to diagnose a problem. This is an example of bottom-up processing for me since I have no preconceived ideas as to what I am supposed to do.  After the mechanic teaches me what everything is and what it is used for, and how to diagnose the perceived problems, I am now ready to use top-down processing to work on my car.

Is this a good example?
