Given : The park has a rectangular playground in the center and two   flower beds, one on each end side of the playground.

To find  : Area of Two Flower Beds & Total Area of Park

Solution:

Area of Grassy portion = 22 * 10 = 220 m²

Let say perpendicular height in one of the flower bed = h

then in other flower bed = 26 - 10 - h  = 16 - h

Area of Two Flower Beds = (1/2) * (22  + 10) (h)  + (1/2) * (22  + 10) (16 - h)

= (1/2) 32 * 16

= 256 m²

Area of Two Flower Beds = 256 m²

Total Area of Park = 220 + 256  = 476 m²
