Event A1 represents Box 1
Event A2 represents Box 2
Event B represents choosing red marbles.
P(A1)= 1/2 P(A2)=1/2
Conditional Probability=P(B/A1)=3/5 and P(B/A2)=2/10 or 1/5
Probability that a marble is chosen=(1/2*3/5)+(1/2*1/5)
=3/10+1/10
=4/10 or 40%
Event A2 represents Box 2
Event B represents choosing red marbles.
P(A1)= 1/2 P(A2)=1/2
Conditional Probability=P(B/A1)=3/5 and P(B/A2)=2/10 or 1/5
Probability that a marble is chosen=(1/2*3/5)+(1/2*1/5)
=3/10+1/10
=4/10 or 40%
