Yes, this lesson is about a boy, who is the author, the way he lead a difficult life abd wanted to be educated in his society. The author in this story didnt want to spoil his society's name in front of the english people. He really want to a hard time as his stepfather wanted him to work so that his family will not suffer, but his mother really really supported him in all he did and did her best.
