Suppose there are 10 students and 10 lockers..
then the no. of closed lockers =7
(7 \times 1 + 0 = 7)
If there are 20 students and 20 lockers , then no. of closed lockers =16
(7 \times 2 + 2 = 16)
Similarly taking 30 lockers and 30 students , no. of closed lockers =25
(7 \times 3 + 4 = 25)
Therefore, for 1000 lockers and 1000 students, no. of closed lockers =
(7 \times 100 +198) = 898
so my answer is (D)-none of these
