There are 49 dogs signed up for a dog show. There are 36 more small dogs than large dogs. How many small dogs have signed up to compete?

According to the question-

  • Total number of dogs = 49
  • Number of more small dogs then large dogs = 36

So ,

When we subtract 36 from 49, we will get 13 large dogs

And our answer will be

  • large dog = 13
  • small dog = 36

Is that a trick question? Apparently not.

But it is not a real answer! Shocked!?

The answer of this question is 42.5 but it may be sounds inappropriate because how can the answer be 42 and a half dog .

Let's know the reason-

We know that

\tt :\implies\tt 49 - 36 = 13

\tt :\implies\tt  \dfrac{13}{2} = 6 \dfrac{1}{2}

So,

\tt :\implies\tt  36 + 6 \dfrac{1}{2}

\tt :\implies\tt  42 \dfrac{1}{2}

\tt :\implies\tt  42.5

Hence proved!
