The tech is different, the clothes are different, the political and economic factors are different, but underneath it all, we’re still the same species we were 60 thousand years ago.

Here’s how it’s been going with our species for several thousand years. Old folk tell the young folk “This is how I survived, so do only this.” The young folk say, “Yeah, but let’s try this!” Then the young folk try “this” and the old folk complain, but it turns out the young folk were right (mostly). See, while the young folk tried “this,” they realized it had repercussions, and so they told their kids “This is how I survived,” and so on and so forth until today. Tomorrow, our kids will tell us, “let’s try this!” even after we tell them, “This is how I survived, so do only this.” Our sole revenge against them, is that we know they’ll be telling their kids “This is how I survived,” while their kids are saying, “Yeah, but let’s try this!”
