Plasma

Plasma is a component of the blood and is straw coloured. It has many types of ions, molecules, protein, nitrogenous waste, water etc... The three main types of Protein present in the plasma are Albumin, Globulin and Fibrinogen. In them Globulin is responcible for the production of antibodies. The memory cells are capable of recognising similar pathogens which are infecting us again. Soon they start to produce antibodies against them and this process happens much faster than the first time of infection.

Plasma Donation

In plasma donation, the donor's blood contain the anti Bodies which will then be used by the reciever's body. Donation of plasma is just as similar like donating blood. First they place a needle in your vein and then take your blood. This blood that is collected is separated into various components and the plasma are taken seperately.

How does this help in this pandemic situation?

So as we have seen above plasma helps in the production of antibodies.So,a person who had recovered from Corona would have the required antibodies to fight this disease and if he donates it then it will help a person who is suffering due to this disease. This technique has worked out pretty well!!
