Required Answer:-

By seeing the figure we can conclude that AB is parallel to CD, O is the center of the circle and in the question we are provided that the radius of this circle is 4.5cm.

We know, the radius is the perpendicular to the tangent. So, OM = r = 4.5cm.[tex][/tex]

Now we also know that, the distance between any two parallel tangents in a circle is equal to the measure of diameter.

Hence, the distance between two parallel tangents of a circle will be:

= 2 × Radius

= 2 × 4.5

= 9cm

Therefore, the distance between two parallel tangents of a circle is 9cm.

Required Answer :-

At first let's see what we have

We have

O as center

Radius = 4.5 cm

Two parallel tagents B and D of the circle

Now, The distance between the two tagnets will be double the radius because we have to find the distance between B and D.

So, The distance between the parallel tagnets = MO + ON

MO + ON

4.5 + 4.5

9 cm

Therefore the distance between two parallel tangents of a circle having radius 4.5 cm is 9 cm
