Here its given that

Initial velocity (u) = 10m/s

Final velocity (v) = 0m/s

\sf \: Acceleration  \: due \:  to  \: gravity \:  =  {9.8m/s}^{2}

We have to find

Time

Height

Let's start

Using

\sf \: v = u + gt

here

V = Final velocity

u= Initial velocity

g = Acceleration due to gravity

t= time

Let's put values

\sf \: 0 = 10 + (  { - 9.8}  \times t)

Here Acceleration due to gravity is negative as stone is thrown vertically upwards

\sf \:  - 10 =  - 9.8t

\sf \: 10 = 9.8t \: \: (cancel)

\sf \:  \frac{10}{9.8}  = t

\sf \: or \: t \:  =  \frac{10}{9.8}

\sf \: or \: t = 1.0204 \: seconds

Now to find height we will use

\sf \: h = ut +  \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}

Putting values

\sf \: h = 10 \times 1.0204 +  \frac{1}{2}  \times  - 9.8 \times ( {1.0204}^{2} )

\sf \: h = 10.204 - \frac{1}{2}  \times ( 10.2039)

\sf \: h = 10.204 - 5.10195

\sf \: h = 5.10205m

The formula used

\sf \: v = u + gt

\sf \: h = ut +  \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2}
