QUESTION:-

6 \times  \frac{1}{8}  - 1 \times  \frac{5}{12}

SOLUTION:-

6 \times  \frac{1}{8}  - 1 \times  \frac{5}{12}

 =  \frac{6}{8}  -  \frac{5}{12}

 =  \frac{18 - 10}{24}

The denominator here becomes 24 because the L.C.M of 8, 12 are 24.

  = \frac{8}{24}

 =  \frac{1}{3}

ANSWER:-

6 \times  \frac{1}{8}  - 1 \times  \frac{5}{12}  =  \frac{1}{3}
