I will give you the trick which Would Force you to study.
SSt and science is interesting if you understand it... Dont learn, just undersatnd and write in your Exams.It will surely help.
As we all know that it is common to all OK us to get bored with our studies So we Have to make our learnings interesting and quite Amazing.
We Have to learn in the way that the teaching goes Into our Mind and make the study an interesting time .
First thing is that studying everyday, may be little, But everyday, Would help you to make studies your Habit, it will make studying a Part of your life.
Next, making studies interesting, I mean, it will make studying an interesting time Not that 'Now I Have study ' Sadly.
However, to make studies interesting, you have to play with the chapters, you Have to make notes, Don't learn the Whole Chapter, just make small notes and Keep it with you everytime.
Whenever you get time just read it.
Do Self study and inspire and Encourage yourself to reach to your Goal.
Take self-tests ,Make a tough Paper ,and try to solve it with the help of notes.
Good... I think this will inspire you to study.

I am also a Class 8 student.
SSt is not a subject to be learnt but a subject to be understood! If you understand SSt then obviously you would need to learn very few things.
Now, to motivate yourself towards studies, you should increase your interest in some subjects and you will automatically be motivated and concentrated regarding studies. When talking about studies its also necessary to tell that ANYONE CAN'T REACH HIS/HER GOALS UNTIL HE IS REFRESHED. For getting refreshed you should take small breaks between your study hours. In these breaks you can go for a short walk or watch tv or talk to friends, etc. Now you asked how to get more marks when would be sent outside. For getting marks here you should write all answers upto the point and try to do the least cut. Don't write anything in very detail until told to write. Also ensure that your starting and ending 1 or 2 lines of answers must be very good and in brief.

And what I told with SSt is the same what to do with Science.
