Step-by-step explanation:

Hi

Question:

A shopkeeper loses 16%,if an article is sold for Rs. 103. What should be the selling price of the article to gain

21%?

Solution:

Let the cost price be x.

Article sold at a loss of 16%.

= > x - 4x = 103

25

= > 21x = 103

25

= > x = 103 X 25 = Rs. 122.61

21

So, C.P = Rs. 122.61

S.P of article if it is sold at profit of 21%.

S.P = C.P + Profit

S.P = 103 X 25 + 103 X 25 X 21

21 21 100

= 122.61 + 25.75

= 148.36

: The selling price is Rs. 148.36.
