Given that, diameter(d) of cylinder is 1.4 m and length(h) is 8 m.

⇒ the radius of sphere(r) = radius of cylinder

⇒ surface area of tank = surface area of cylinder + 2(surface
Area of hemisphere)

= 2πrh + 2(2πr2)
= 2πr(h + 2r)

= 41.36 m2
⇒ ∴ the cost of painting it on the outside at rate of D20 per m2
= 41.36 × 20
= D827.20

Here is your answer
Diameter is 1.4 m
Radius = 1.4/2 = 0.7 m

Length (h) is 8 m

As we know the formula
Curved Surface Area of cylinder is 2πrh

Curved Surface Area of hemisphere is 2πr^2

So Total Surface Area is= 2πr (r + h)
 = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 0.7(0.7 + 8) \\ \\ = 2 \times 22 \times 0.1 \times 8.7 \\ \\ = 38.28 \: m {}^{2}
Now Rate of painting is Rs 20/sq.m

Therefore Cost of painting it on outside is
= 20 × 38.28

= Rs 765.60
