Brakes applied to a car produce a uniform retardation of 0.9 m/s2 if car was travelling with a velocity of 27m/s what distance will it cover before coming to rest?

distance = 27*27/ 2*0.9
= 405 m

Solution:

v=0

u=27m/s

a=0.9m/s^2

USING;

            v^2-u^2=2as

=(0)^2-(27)^2=2*0.9*s

=0^2-729^2=1.8*s

=-729/-1.8=s

s=405km/s
