Breathing is basically the intake of oxygen which is first inhaled by contraction of diaphragm and relaxation of chest cavity. The oxygen then combines with haemoglobin in the red blood cells and is transported all over the body. Whereas exchange of gases keeps on taking place. Once the oxygen has been inhaled, the carbon dioxide is immediately released.
