the nose has tiny little hair inside which prevents dust and other foreign particles to enter. this however isn't present in the mouth thus it is healthier to breathe from nose than from mouth

When we breathe through our nose, there are hairs and mucus present which prevent dust particles to enter inside the lungs. The air that enters contains several impurities. The nasal hairs prevent large dust particles and mucus dissolves small particles into it. Thus only the pure air enters inside the lungs for respiration. But if we breathe through our mouth there are no such barriers to restrict the impurities and there are more chances of getting sick. Thus nose breathing is considered to be better than mouth breathing in human.
