When electric current flows in a circuit it can produce heat and light and make an object move. When an electric current flows through a conducting wire, the wire becomes hot. This is called the heating effect of electricity. This is used in room heater, electric fuse, etc. When an electric current flows through a conducting wire, the wire behaves like a magnet. This is called the magnetic effect of electric current. This is used in electromagnets and electric bells. The electric motors in fans and grinders which make some parts move work on this effect. When an electric current flows through certain conductors, they become so hot that they emit light. This is what happens in an incandescent electric bulb.
