Given

Brian's father is 4 times as old as Jason

After 5 years he will be 3 times as old as Jason

To Find

Present ages of Jason and Brian's father

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Let us assume that Jason's age be 'x' years

then, according to the question

Brian's father age =>4×x =4x

After 5 years Jason's age will be 'x+5' years

His father age after 5 years=>4x+5

According to the question

After 5 years his father will be 3 times as old as Jason

=>4x+5=3(x+5)

=>4x+5=3x+15

=>4x-3x=15-5

=>x=10

Therefore, Jason's age is 10 years

Brian's father age is 10×4=40 years
