martha washing was the child of the cook.she was a little coloured girl who was helen's constant companion.she was an expert in uderstanding helen's signs and this gave Helen a lot of support to spend her days happily. Helen always bossed her around Martha willingly obeyed Helen and never risked an encounter or created a scene. Martha was somewhat mischievous.once she seized a pair of scissors and cut off one of Helen's curls. she was going to cut them all off as she was on the path of taking some silent revenge. Helen's mother saved her from the cruel scissor of Martha.
