Fragmentation is a form of asexual reproduction where in a parent organism breaks into fragments, each capable of growing independently into a new organism. This is exhibited by organisms such as annelid worms, sea stars, fungi and plants. Fragmentation describes a separating of something into pieces.
The act or process of fragmenting or making fragmentary, is called as fragmentation.
