Types of families:
Nuclear Family: A nuclear family or an elementary family consists of two married couples, and their biological or adopted children living in the same house, sharing same resources, responsibilities and duties as a single family unit.
Extended family: A family that consists of grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts and cousins living in the same house and extends beyond a nuclear family, is called extended family.
Joint Family: In a joint family, siblings, their spouses and their dependent children live in the same house. They have equal share in the expenses and the family property. Usually in this kind of family, female children leave the home after their marriage, and the male bring their spouse into the family to carry the lineage.
Blended Family: When divorced or widowed individuals marry and their children move in to start a new family, this is called blended family.
