✔✔ Atheism is a belief system with the sole, necessary principle being that God (or group of gods) does not exist. And yes, this does mean that it's ok for somebody to be an atheist and still hold to other belief systems, including belief in the supernatural.

✔✔ For example, many buddhists are atheists. Buddhism alone has no deity, though it does have beliefs surrounding ideas of reincarnation and the like. It's worth noting that it's possible to be a Buddhist and also believe in a God. Buddhism is cool like that - believing a god does exist or does not exist has no bearing on the other tenants of Buddhism. The reason I go on about Buddhism in this respect is because I just read an article the other day about two men - Both were Christians, both had a crisis of faith, and both found Buddhism. The difference between them was one found that the problems he was having stemmed specifically from a belief in a deity and became atheistic but embraced Buddhism. The other (who was and still is a Christian pastor, by the way) reconciled his belief in Buddhism with his belief in God.

Anyway, you can believe anything (or nothing) in the world as an atheist, so long as you firmly believe that God does not exist. The only reason so many are hardcore on believing only in the natural universe and empirical data is because those are what lead them to become atheists in the first place.

Atheist is a person who does not believe in god, Ex:- Marilyn Monroe and Daniel Radcliffe ( the guy who starred Peter Parker/ Spider man in Spider Man-1, Spider Man-2, Spider Man-3) and James Cameroon.
