He possessed the largest empire in India after the decline of the Delhi Sultanate. His rule extended over parts of present day Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Northern Tamil Nadu. He was a great fighter and never gave up till the end. He won his greatest victory against the Bahmani Sultans.
