For so long Jammu & Kashmir being a part of India remained separate from it. The laws, rules and regulations which applied to India didn't apply to Jammu & Kashmir but recently a huge step was taken by the Central government that the state of Jammu & Kashmir will be regulated by the same laws, rules and regulations as applied all over the Indian territory.

The state of Jammu & Kashmir has been made as an integral part of India by the Central government and this was a historic decision taken by the government.

Answer:

According to the Indian government, Jammu and Kashmir, which is the union territory were split, but they had an agreement that still it will remain in India through the legal agreement they signed. However, in 1846, Kashmir was announced as a state which was later sold to Singh who was the ruler of Jammu. Therefore become a family ruling since the Singh was a grandson of Gulab. However, due to invasions, Pathans were swiped away by Kashmir.
