In India, hunting has been a part of the culture of the court and nobility, for


centuries.


Many Emperor’s past time was hunting.


The British felt that by killing dangerous animals they could civilize India. Thus


hunting wild animals became a sport for the British.


They gave rewards to the persons for killing tigers, wolves and other large animals


since these animals posted a threat to the cultivators.
