while waiting, Ali would hear the peons of various companies gossiping about their bosses. people made fun of him by calling out his name even though there was no letter for him. they just wanted to see him jump eagerly to receive the letter, which was not there at all. Thus, they insulted and laughed at the poor old man.

Ali was a passionate father yearning for a letter from his daughter. Since her marriage,he was missing his daughter very badly . He couldn't bear the Pang of separation .He was so impatient to receive a letter from Miriam that he would visit the post office every day .He used to be the first to reach their in the morning .He always returned empty handed .It almost became a ritual or pilgrimage for him .The people at the post office made a fun of him . They humiliated him, mocked at him and thought him a mad man
