I) helps prevent soil erosion

ii) even if what crop gets destroyed there is a chance that another crop might be economical to the farmer

iii) nutrients are used efficiently

for example:- if wheat crop needs nitrogen then it will take it from the soil but there is no other plant which needs Nitrogen so it is used efficiently by wheat.

iv) gives a variety of options of crops to wholesale buyer and farmer

v) better than mixed cropping

vi)follows a definite pattern of cropping for example sowing cabbage and corn alternatively
