a. The Ahoms built a large state that was depended upon forced labour. Those forced to work for the state were called paiks.


b. The society had caste of artisans.



c. All adult males served in the army during war, they also served in the public sector.



d. They were involved in building dams, irrigation systems and other public works.



e. Agriculture was practiced,  Ahoms also introduced new methods of rice cultivation


f. Poets and scholars also existed in the Ahom society.


g. Theater was also encouraged.

Paiks rose in rebellion under Bakshi Jagabandhuand, projecting Lord Jagannath as the symbol of Oriya unity; the rebellion quickly spread across most of Odisha before being ruthlessly put down by the company's forces.
