the process is called phagocytosis
when amoeba senses food it releases its pseudopodia
it then engulfs the prey and creates a temporary food vacuole
digestive enzymes digest the food
the food is absorbed by the body and the waste is expelled out.
for excretion ,one of the side of amoeba ruptures and the waste is expelled out
and the amoeba grows in size

1) Amoeba takes in food using temporary finger-like extensions called pseudopodia.
2) These pseudopodia fuse over the food particle forming food vacyole.
3) Inside the food vacuole, complex substances are broken down into simple ones which then diffuse into the cytoplasm.
4) The remaining undigested material is moved to the surface of the cell and thrown out.
