Briefly describe the process of retrogressive metamorphosis in protochordate.

Retrogressive metamorphosis occurs in urochordates. The larval stage has advanced features like notochord in tail region which gradually disappear as the organism grows to become an adult. As the larva is more advanced than adults, It is called retrogressive metamorphosis.
