Myanmar was a British colony and he played a very huge role in the independence of Burma.

He along with the other 29 freedom fighters called the thirty comrades negotiated with the Japan for negotiation.  This was in return for the freedom of Burmese  from the British rule.

Myanmar has written a narrative nonfiction account about their epic multi generational fight for democracy.  And through this book, it has set a stage for discussion whereby , Panelists included Brooking senior fellow Ted piccone included.
