The Treaty of Versailles was a punishment by the Allied Powers on Germany as they considered Germany was the lone country responsible for World War I.

The treaty was signed on 28 June,1919.

Some of its terms are --

1. Germany was slapped with paying war costs and damages.
2. Germany's military power was reduced and banned from being in possession of weapons.
3. Germany was stripped of its colonies and its boundaries were redefined.
4. Rhineland ans Ruhr were snatched from Germany when it failed to give reparations due to depression

World War I officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on June 28, 1919. Negotiated among the Allied powers with little participation by Germany, its 15 parts and 440 articles reassigned German boundaries and assigned liability for reparations.
