Cori cycle named after it's discoveries Carl Ferdinand Cori and Getting Cori refers to the metabolic pathway in which lactate produced by anaerobic glycolysis in the muscles moves to the liver and is converted to glucose,which then returns to the muscles and is metabolized back to lactate.

  • The lactic acid produced in a fast working muscle,in low oxygen conditions,to release energy for the contraction of muscles is mostly converted into glucose in the liver cells {gluconeogenesis}by cori cycle.
