There are four levels of protein structure.one of the structure is protein stricture.
SECONDARY STRUCTURE:
it occurs when the sequence of amino acids are linked by hydrogen bonds.
hydrogen bonding of the peptide backbone causes the amino acids to fold into a repeating pattern.
The secondary structure are dividing into 2 types
1)alpha helex
2)beta pleat
in the alpha helex the polypeptide chain is wound round to form a helix that is held together by many h2 bonds.
in the beta pleat, the polypeptide chain zig zag back and forward ,once again held together by hydrogen bonds.
