Ans: The factors that contributed to imperialism is mainly industrialization, the need for geographic extent of the country (which probably comes with nationalism or the greed for power of the ruler) and religious propaganda. When the European countries conquer, the conquering of the land, the looting of their riches and the spread of their religion worked parallel to each other. When industrial revolution started, a few countries like Britain, America and Japan started manufacturing their own goods. They required raw materials. If the region which produces the raw materials needed for making the goods are at the control of the manufacture, the materials will be available in a lower or free of cost. The vaster an empire was, the powerful it was. This principle probably made the rulers of colonize regions and to make it under there control. Christianity is most followed religion in the world. the religion spread so widely with great strength because of the colonization of British ana American. Where ever they went, they preached there religion.
