acceleration means change in velocity with respect to time.

Constant acceleration means the velocity is changing constantly as such the increase in velocity per second is same.(let the change of velocity in 1-2sc=change of velocity in 2-3sc..........)

Also the direction of motion remains the same as acceleration is a vector quantity.

if the velocity of an object change form an initial value u and final value v in time t the acceleration a is
a = v-u/ t
the king of motion is known as accelerated motion the acceleration is known as taken to be positive if it is in the direction of velocity and negative when it is opposite to direction of velocity.
